Chris teaching Sunday

Hey guys,

I will be taking my annual trip to New Orleans to go fishing in the gulf this weekend, so I will not be there Sunday.   Chris McKinney will be teaching for me, and you will want to hear him, he is a very gifted teacher of God’s Word.  Dont forget about Meredith’s party the week after that!!  Have a great week guys!

Hey guys just a quick announcement.  We will not be meeting downstairs for Sunday School this week because of the work being done for adventure camp.  I am not sure where we will actually have class.  We will meet in the atrium on the couches at 9:30, and hopefull find a room somewhere. 

Glenn — thanks for organizing the movie get together.  Sadly, we cant make it.  We have family in this week and weekend.  This hopefully will be a regular thing for us though!!  Looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday, Lord willing. 

We’d love an update from anyone who gets these e-mails who are away, or anyone close by who wants to update us on where you are and what you are doing!  We are always thrilled to hear from you!!

Friday Movie Night

This Friday is a good chance for our class to hang out and watch a drive-in movie together. Please let us know how many of you are interested. We’ve gone once before (last Fall), but it was their last week before closing down for the winter. Now that Summer is here they are in full swing and putting some really good movies up each week.

This Friday the Wilderness Theater Drive-In will be showing The Incredible Hulk! I’ve really been looking forward to seeing this movie and I certainly hope that you will all consider getting together this Friday as we go to the drive-in.

Schedule and Money: I will meet car pool people at Concord Baptist Church at 6:30 PM. We will leave around 6:40 PM to go to the drive-in. That means that we will have about 1.5 hours to hangout, eat, through frisbees or footballs, etc, before the movie begins. Please note that you must bring cash to get in and cash to pay for any food you want. The movies cost only $5 to get in and you get a total of two movies if you want to stay for the late one that starts around 11 PM or Midnight.

Driving directions are on the web site. Please post a comment or E-mail our Google group if you would like to go and make a note if you would like to meet at the Church and do some car pooling.

Christmas Party!

Hey guys! I just wanted to get some feedback about which date would be best for our Christmas party because I know our Covenant folks get out early for break. Would December 1 or 7 be a good date? The party will be at either Drew and Bethany’s house or Aaron and Emily’s (Aaron, you’ve been volunteered by Drew..) and we’ll probably have a bad gift exchange like last year. So, just let me know which sounds better with finals and everything!

Drive-In Movie and Fellowship!

Hello Friends,

I just wanted to go ahead an confirm that we will be having a drive-in movie night THIS Friday night, November 2, 2007 @ 7:oo PM. Everyone who has shown interest is saying that Friday night is best instead of Saturday night. Please go ahead and mark your calendars for this Friday, unless of course you already have unchangeable plans.

This week is actually the LAST week for movies at the drive-in for the year of 2007, since the cold weather is setting in people will not come that much any more.

Nevertheless, I’m very happy to announce that the first movie for this week is the brand new animated movie, “The Ten Commandments“.

The second movie is not as desirable, but for everyone who would like to stay and watch it… you only pay $5 for the whole night whether you watch one or two movies. By the way, the first movie starts at 8:00 PM if you cannot be there at 7:00 PM to play games and fellowship with each other.

I certainly hope that as many of you that can will be there at the movies when the gates open at 7 PM… This will ensure that we will have good seats, plus we will also be able to play Football or Frisbee or some other fun game in the large fields while we wait for the movie to start. [Please NOTE: Everyone who has a football or frisbee or something else, bring it with you to the drive-in!] They also have plenty of food on sale for VERY reasonable prices. But know this… You MUST bring CASH! They do not accept any form of plastic credit/debit cards or checks.

If I recall, you can get something substantial to eat for around 5 or 6 dollars… if you do not choose to eat before you come. Unfortunately, because some people brought their own grill and started selling their own food at the drive-in before and during the movies one time this year, no one is allowed to bring their own food into the establishment any more.

Ministry Opportunity

I’ve been given an opportunity to complete a clinical rotation in Grand Junction, Colorado for eight weeks starting January 7. However, there is no one to fill my drama teaching position with the elementary school kids on Wednesday nights and I don’t want to leave anyone high and dry. If you think you might be interested in helping me out and planting seeds of the Gospel in the hearts of our church’s kids, then please let me know and you can come see how much fun, and what a great ministry, drama can be.

Corn Maze!!!

Hi everybody! So, we are attempting a get together this Saturday night (the 20th) to go to the Enchanted Corn Maze at the bottom of Lookout. They have a couple options (scary, not scary) and they have live music and storytelling around a bonfire. The cost is $8.50 per person unless I know how many are going and then we can get a group discount of….I’m not sure, but cheaper. We’d probably want to meet at 6 or 6:30. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll set it up!
